In this 1 hour Lunch & Learn, Summit Instructor, Hayley McCurdy, PT, DPT, CSCS provides attendees the knowledge of the gait cycle during running and different assessment concepts. The gait cycle during running versus walking creates different strains on the musculature, primarily in the lower extremities. This course will aid in identifying and using specific assessments and measures for the runner at any level for an efficient treatment plan.

 

About Hayley McCurdy: 

Hayley McCurdy, PT, DPT, CSCS is a physical therapist as well as an ACSM certified exercise physiologist. Dr. McCurdy enjoys treating runners, avid exercisers, and postpartum clients as well as the geriatric population. She is also certified in vestibular rehabilitation. Dr. McCurdy appreciates following the latest research and trends to better serve her clients. Educating is a passion of hers as well as being involved in the community and leadership roles. Dr. McCurdy has been involved in several public education appearances and is pleased to impart knowledge to other professionals and to clients. She earned her Bachelor of Exercise Science from Georgia State University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Emory University. She has completed four marathons including The Great Wall of China Marathon and the Athens, Greece marathon. In her spare time, Dr. McCurdy takes joy in running, hiking, strength training and spending time on adventures with her husband and two young children.
